Elevator Draft

My experimentation of elevator, the elevator looks very modern yet futuristic. The elevator is also inspired by term of power base on two billionaire Carlos Slim and Zhang Yin. The rectangular shape of the elevator is inspired by Zhang Yin who own number one cardboard boxes company in the world

Ratan Tata, Zhang Yin, and Carlos Slim Articles

Zhang Yin (张茵) (b. 1957), also known by her Hong Kong name Cheung Yan, is a Chinese entrepreneur. She is the founder and director of the family company Nine Dragons Paper, a recycling company that buys scrap paper from the United States, imports it into China, and mainly turns it into cardboard for use in boxes to export Chinese goods. The company is China's biggest paper maker.
In October 2006, she became, at 49 years old, the first woman to top the list of richest people in China published by
Hurun Report (the Chinese luxury magazine and events group).

Ratan Tata was born into an old Parsi family of Bombay (present-day Mumbai), the first child of Soonoo & Naval Hormusji Tata. Ratan's childhood was troubled, his parents separating in the mid-1940s, when he was about seven and his younger brother Jimmy was five. His mother moved out and both Ratan and his brother were raised by their grandmother Lady Navajbai.
He was schooled at the
Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai. During college, Ratan joined Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. In 1962, after graduating from Cornell University with a degree in Architecture and Structural Engineering, Ratan joined the family business. Ratan turned down a job offer from IBM, following the advice of J.R.D. Tata, and entered the family business. Today, Ratan maintains that he came back because of his ailing grandmother who had raised him. Ratan joined the Tata Group in December 1962, when he was sent to Jamshedpur to work at Tata Steel. He worked on the floor along with other blue-collar employees, shovelling limestone and handling the blast furnaces. He is not married.

Carlos Slim Helú (born January 28, 1940 in Mexico City) is a Mexican businessman[2] and one of the richest people in the world. Slim has a substantial influence over the telecommunications industry in Mexico and much of Latin America as well. He controls Teléfonos de México (Telmex), Telcel and América Móvil companies. Though he maintains an active involvement in his companies, his three sons Carlos Slim Domit, Marco Antonio Slim Domit and Patrick Slim Domit head them on a day-to-day basis.

- Final Model Images with Texture (Final Submission)

This is the image of Hawking's space, with the ramp inside that leads to outer space. The color of the space is colorful yet, gloomy and mysterious at the same time thus creates a pleasent atmosphere. The lighting color of the room also to give a differentiation with darwin's space which is more "earthly" color. The applied texture give a sense of rigid and modern at the same time, it also create interesting gradiation of light in conjunction with the lighting.

The image is of the outer spaces of my model. The floating ramp's purpose is to connect Hawking's and Darwin's spaces. For this outer space i chose to use tones of Earthly colours to represent Darwin's quote to potray human (earth creatures); in which we are an advance breed of monkey but with special abilities. The Darwin's space is located on the bottom part of the ramp. By putting ourselves at the very bottom of the ramp looking up shows the superiority of our understanding hence portraying our intelligence.

The transition space between Darwin and Hawking space. The space's texture is a combination between colorful and earthly tone color (the ground use earthly looking texture). The customize texture is applied for the wall thus create an interesting effect and atmosphere.

The Meeting point between two scientist is located on the ramp. The shelter is provided to give sense of protection.

A view from top of the ramp, it can be seen clearly the contrast different of color inner and outer spaces thus create an interesting combination and atmosphere.

Other Images

A view from inside the inner ramp. The ramp is lack of lighting thus, give a sense of gloomy and mysterious
